About the Course
The Confident Sewist Track is designed for students who have mastered foundational skills and are ready to expand their range. This track moves beyond basics and into precision, versatility, and independent project execution.
THIS IS A GROUP SEWING CLASS.
Students refine construction techniques while exploring garments, accessories, structured bags, and functional details. Instruction focuses on deeper pattern comprehension, fit adjustments, closures, fabric behavior, and professional finishing methods.
Projects vary by month but may include unlined and lined bags, simple garments such as pajama pants or skirts, zippered pouches, aprons, or knit basics. Students learn to modify patterns, work with a variety of fabrics, and apply appropriate interfacing and structure.
The goal is not just to complete projects, but to develop confident decision-making, cleaner execution, and the ability to sew with greater independence.
Students can expect hands-on practice with:
Installing zippers, buttons, snaps, and other closures
Constructing lined and unlined bags
Sewing darts, pleats, gathers, and basic shaping techniques
Applying interfacing for structure and durability
Executing professional seam finishes, including serging and binding
Improving precision with seam allowances, topstitching, and edge finishing
Troubleshooting construction challenges with guided support
Completing multi-step projects with increasing independence
Cost: $100 per month
Class Length: 1 hour 20 mins
Supplies: A list will be emailed after Registration. Kits will also be available to purchase before each class.
Monthly Enrollment - Enrollment is ongoing, and students may remain in this track as long as they are continuing to grow and challenge themselves.
Most students are remain in this track at least six weeks as we work on repetition increasing the difficulty of projects until the student it confident to work independently.
Classes are designed to be fun, hands-on, and tailored to each student’s skill level and goals.
