About the Course
The Kids Sewing Track is designed to introduce young makers to the world of sewing in a fun, encouraging, and hands-on environment. Students learn how to safely use a sewing machine, understand basic sewing tools, and practice simple construction techniques while completing beginner-friendly projects.
THIS IS A GROUP SEWING CLASS.
In this track, students are guided through the essential building blocks of sewing in a structured, supportive studio environment. Instruction focuses on safety, machine confidence, sewing terminology, fabric basics, and core construction skills appropriate for young learners.
Students can expect hands-on practice with:
• Sewing machine operation, safe handling, threading, and basic stitch selection
• Straight and curved stitching while learning control and coordination
• Proper cutting, pressing, marking, and understanding seam allowances
• Identifying fabric types and learning how fabric direction works
• Following simple sewing instructions and beginner patterns
• Completing kid-friendly projects such as small accessories and beginner items
Projects are designed to reinforce technique and understanding, not just produce a finished item. Building confidence, accuracy, and creativity is prioritized over speed.
