About the Course
This Foundations course is the perfect starting point for anyone new to sewing. Whether you’ve never touched a machine or just need a refresher, this hands-on course will teach you the fundamentals—machine operation, essential tools, and key techniques for sewing with accuracy and confidence. Each week builds your skills through fun, beginner-friendly projects like coasters, pillowcases, and sewing machine covers.
THIS IS A GROUP SEWING CLASS.
In this track, students are guided through the essential building blocks of sewing in a structured, supportive studio environment. Instruction focuses on safety, machine confidence, terminology, fabric knowledge, and core construction skills.
Students can expect hands-on practice with:
Sewing machine operation, threading, tension adjustment, and stitch selection
Straight, zigzag, and curved stitching with control and consistency
Proper cutting, pressing, marking, and seam allowance accuracy
Understanding fabric types, grainlines, and basic interfacing
Reading and interpreting simple sewing patterns
Completing beginner-friendly projects such as small accessories
Projects are designed to reinforce technique, not just produce a finished item. Accuracy and understanding are prioritized over speed.

Class Length: 1 hour 20 mins
Supplies: A list will be emailed after Registraion. Kits will also be available to purchase before each class.
Monthly Enrollment - Enrollment operates on a month-to-month basis, allowing students to continue in the track until they feel prepared to advance. Most students are ready to progress within 6–8 weeks, depending on attendance, practice time, and individual skill development.
Classes are designed to be fun, hands-on, and tailored to each student’s skill level and goals.
